Sudbury has been home to me, my wife Suzanne, our daughters Molly (age 22, LS2014) and Callie (age 18, LS2018), and our two dogs for the past fourteen years. We moved to Sudbury for the excellent schools, beautiful outdoors, historic character and strong community spirit. It is with that same sense of community and spirit that I proudly and enthusiastically announce my candidacy for Sudbury Board of Selectmen.

Professionally, I have served as an engineering manager for over 20 years, innovating and balancing resources to deliver quality products and services on budget. I bring experience in collaborative planning, negotiation, evidence-based decision making, executing to plan, and dealing with contingencies. As a Selectman, I will apply these same necessary skills in my policy and decision making, to best serve the interests of our entire community.

Locally, I have volunteered as Government Lead for Protect Sudbury, to protect our Town from the avoidable harm of Eversource’s proposed power lines through the heart of Sudbury.  I have collaborated with residents, our Town Manager, members of the Board of Selectman, the Conservation Commission, Sudbury Valley Trustees, and our State and Federal elected officials for the past several years.

Prior to seeking public office, I have volunteered for numerous organizations, which mirror my values and interests:

  • 8 years Venture Crew 1776 Advisor and Unit Rep for the annual Boy Scout tree sale

  • 9 years Lincoln-Sudbury Relay for Life parent, supporting the American Cancer Society

  • 7 years Sudbury Youth Soccer coach

  • 7 years Waypoint Adventure volunteer, empowering youth and adults with disabilities to discover their purpose, talents and strengths

I offer my skills and commitment to preserve and enhance what makes Sudbury so special - excellence in education, its natural beauty, and historical charm.  The Metro West region is growing, and we must manage the impact of that growth on Sudbury in a fiscally responsible manner, with a roadmap of measurable goals. I will work hard to keep our Town a healthy, vibrant, livable community for all residents, young and old.

I thank outgoing Chairman Bob Haarde and Selectmen Len Simon for their leadership and commitment to our town.  While they leave behind big shoes to fill, I am excited by the opportunity to step up and serve our community. I will work hard to earn your vote on Monday, March 25.
